RIVR Documentation

This is a sovereign group instance of RIVR — a federated social/civic coordination platform. It runs independently and federates into the hosted global app (app.rivr.social) for cross-instance discovery, marketplace, and credentialing. This site documents what this instance does and how to build against it.

It has two tabs:

📖 Wiki

Every user-facing surface, documented at click level: what each screen is, where it lives in the app, every interaction (buttons, menus, forms) and its result, who can see or do it, and how it connects to the rest of the platform.

🔌 API

Developer reference for building against this instance:

Auth models — the three principals RIVR authenticates: session, MCP token, and peer signature.
Federation protocol — the Ed25519-signed event + peer-registry endpoints this instance federates through.
MCP + REST surface — the tool surface over /api/mcp (advertised by /.well-known/mcp and /llms.txt) plus the /api/** route tree. See the API overview.

This site stays in parity with the code

The wiki is maintained under the standing docs-parity rule: any change to a user-facing surface updates its wiki page in the same commit. The hosted global app additionally emits a machine-generated per-tool / per-endpoint reference from source; that generator is not run on this sovereign build yet, so the API tab documents auth + federation and points at the live discovery endpoints.
